The Initiation Process
Initiation into the Roman Catholic Church involves a process of study and conversion. We ask that those who are interested in becoming Catholic attend meetings once a week and come to designated Sunday Masses.
After a period of preparation, initiation usually takes place at the Easter Vigil with the reception of the sacraments of initiation: Baptism (for the un-baptized), Eucharist and Confirmation.
Are You Being Called to Minister to People Seeking Initiation into the Catholic Church?
Walking with those preparing for initiation into Catholic Christianity is a very rewarding experience. All fully initiated Catholics are welcomed to participate in our ministry.
Those interested in this ministry should be open, honest and willing to share their faith and how it impacts their lives. Their role is one of dialogue, acceptance, listening and teaching.
Training is provided for catechists, sponsors, liturgists, and administrative support.
